HKS Exhaust
I'll probably have enough money to buy some exhaust for my car after christmas, and i want to get the HKS exhaust. I heard that they are louder than the comptech, but i've never heard the comptech so i can't really compare it. If anyone could tell me how loud they are or post a sound clip so i could hear them i would really appreciate it. also, if you have them were you able to install them yourself or did you take them somewhere to get them installed.

I absolutely love the sound of the HKS exhaust! They're a little big though...some days I like it, others I don't. Not one complaint about the sound though. Perfect in my opinion. Here's a pic.

I think there are a couple of guys (namely Shyne) with HKS on their TL. Have they posted their pix yet?? I wanna see some pix!!
Are they flush with the rear bumper?
Any modification necessary to make them fit??

i have the HKS on my TL. it's pimp. Needs modification (go to meineke.. simple solution.. you need to extend the piping, or else the exhaust tips will be concealed under the car). They are tite.

How loud is the exhaust.. i would get the comptech but the tip is soo damn small its like our stock ones.. i dont want an exhaust that you can hear like a mile a way.. can i put a sliencer on it ? And how good will the siliencer be?

Just got back from Las Vegas

...Left one is the hardest to eye up, but the right one goes in perfect...I dont know what the hell mhsu is talking about, it tucks perfect...Sound is not loud enough and is only deep throaty in 4 and 5...Sound is felt throughout the cabin, but its a nice sound and it keeps you awake...They are definately a better investment than the pea shooters...Shyne

Shyne: my friend installed the exhaust for me. It doesn't fit without modification. You need to mod it. If you don't mod it, the exhaust will no be flush with the underbody spoiler. I'll put up pictures later. The factory exhaust is longer than the HKS one, thus, the HKS one will not come out far enough. Trust me, if you don't mod it, it'll look awkward (unless you like not being able to see the exhaust at all). You can barely hear any sound. the exhaust is very very quiet (i got the axle back setup).
