So I ran the 1/8 mile tonight and ran a 8.96 at 84.63mph and thats with a soft launch. 0-60ft time at 2.34 so deffinetly room for improvment. Will post time slip tommorow. mods are intake ,headers ,light weight flywheel ,and 2 1/2in exhuast plus richies swap magic module .

 

I never liked 8th mile for a honda/acura and most imports as thr TL is just getting moving in the top-end. I dont follw 8th mile stuff like mustang/camaro/charger guys love to do. I don't even know if that time is good...lol.

 

Double it, and u get like 16, but i'm sure you could've ran faster than that.

 

thats not how a 1/4 mile and 8th mile work. you cant just double it because that would mean he stopped at the 1/8th mark and launched again for the other 1/8th.

you have to factor in his rate of acceleration and the speed he has already attained. id say he is in the 14.9 territory

I think you mean in the 13.9 territory . Previous best with same mods and auto was a 9.3 in the 1/8 at 78mph and a 14.4 at 98mph in the quarter.Now I ran a 8.9 at 84 mph probably would be like a 13.7-13.9 1/4mile and trap around 102-104mph.

 

 

my stock tl is 60' 2.4s and 1/8th mile 9.9s so this makes sense: a whole second faster to the 1/8th mile. btw you cant double this to get 1/4m time. Acceleration is not linear, specialy for vtec engines. i'm guessing the /4 is 14s flat.

Hey Man not sound like i'm hating or anything. After looking at your mod i'm also thinking you be running low 14-15.5 on 1/4 mile. Only reason I'm saying that is b/c when i was on track with Phee about 2 weeks ago my best time was 15.3 an different between us was weight reduction. (Phee TL was half way guttted out at the track)

my speedometer is off after my 6 speed swap like it will say im doing 60 when im really doing 70 or 75mph. Im actually planning on going to the 1/4 mile track sometime soon.

 

Go to a real track!!! those # are suspect to say the least. who cares about an 1/8 mile anyway!!! the TL CANNOT beat 14.0 unless its has forced induction!!!! or is gutted to the max im runing a 14.42 at 96.87 mph with a 60' at 2.091 so I just don't belive you'd run under a 14. come to nor cal and well race, id love to lose to another TL!

Yea. My car weighed in at 3225 at the track and ran a 14.2@101. It was a slow day for everyone though. I think you ran so much slower because your imrc is closed.

 

Let me clear something up. I meant that under 14s for his car would be suspect, not his 1/8 mile times posted which look pretty good. That said, 03tl-s prove me wrong, don't just claim im wrong! Ive never heard of an 03 tl-s auto or manual runinng under 14. IS THERE? let us know, instead of posting such a worthless statement!

these arent exactly your standard tuners. if somebody cared/wanted to hit 13's or even 12's.. they certainly could. it just takes work..

I'd say your not even with him in acceleration but you've gotta be close.

 

I agree... I know its a tad lighter but when i owned my CL-S6 I ran consistent 14.3's at 97-98mph. Depending on if this TL is modded, times lower than mine are very real to get to.

 

What were his mods?
what else can you do for our car thats going to add that much more power besides a supercharger or nitrous?

So my question is, is there a tl out there that is not boosted , or completely gutted getting under 14.0s?
Sorry for hating but Ive never heard of one or seen the #s. But then again, if your fully bolted with a 6speed, and have real good track tires, on a good day then it does sound very possible.

 

I have, full interior NA and ran 13.8 at 103 (i am a 6 speed swap though with most of the bolt-ons) This winter it will become a 3.5 so i hope to do better.
