Hit front & back

So, I have an 03 TL-S (white pearl) and Tuesday evening after I got off work, I got cut off by an old lady (born in 1935) in her 85 Pontiac "boat." I'm going 45mph and she merged at about 35mph or so. Then she f***king decides to stop in the middle of this 4 lane road!!! I slammed on my breaks and still bumped her. She came to a complete stop at the traffic light. As I came to a full stop, an Expedition rammed me in the back. And now I got a ticket and the person behind me!!! The person that caused the accident walks away with just a small bump on her rear bumper!!! Unbelievable!!!
Anyways... my car has been taken to a body shop. Insurance says it's going to cost $7,500 to fix my car. I got a f***king Ford Taurus from the insurance company and have to drive that 'til the end of the month. What do you guys think I should do when the car is repaired?
I'll post pictures of my car if you guys want to see some gore.

What did you do after they repaired the car? Did you get it checked out by a professional to make sure they covered and replaced what was needed? Did you sell or keep the vehicle?

You guys want blood? Well... here it is...

I'm trying to find the one of the front of the car. On the front, there are just minor scratches of the front bumper and the metal looking silver acura frame was broken.

One more to satisfy your hunger...
This picture is almost inspiring... giving me hope that they'll fix the car nicely and everything will be ok in the end... the shine at the top of the acura emblem is like the car is winking at me telling me everything will be ok and she'll be back!

I know! I don't know how they'll be able to fix it just for $7,500 bucks. Or do I have the right to ask them to total it?
Would you guys keep this vehicle or sell it? I don't want to screw anyone, but I don't know how bad it is to drive a car that has been in an accident like this. What should I be looking out for once I get it back from the shop?

Damn man that really sucks. Especially when it's someone elses fault. When I was having my car worked on I got a Mitsubishi Galant...that was f***ing terrible.

i mean its better then getting that kinda damage to the front. but that seems like atleast 10k. i would see if they can total it. if they do fix, if it comes out perfect, keep it. if i find anything that might bother me at all i would sell/trade.

I think I'm going to court... in hopes that the cop won't show up. Apparently here in Florida, the person that hits you from behind is 99% of the times at fault. Even though that lady should get her license revoked for irresponsible driving... or should I say irresponsible stopping in the middle of a main road!
Oh well... Do you guys think I will still be able to love my TL-S just like the first day I saw her?

I'm just now able to see the pics. The proxy at work blocks photobucket. Sorry to see it man. Did the old lady have those huge bumper gaurds on her car that run vertically? It almost looks like she did from the dent on the front bumper. Hope everything works out for you though.

Yes!!! That's exactly what she had... those vertical pieces of crap. If she only had the horizontal ones, it would have only damaged the bumper and not the Acura silver frame. Do you guys think they'll repaint the whole car after they are done fixing the back? What should I know about paint warranties?

Seriously doubt you'll get a new paint job - just the areas they repaired. Make sure you negotiate with the insurance company on DIMINISHED VALUE - don't necessarily accept their first offer on anything. Educate yourself about the process and the repairs being made and you'll certainly feel better with the outcome. Remember - the insurance company's goal is to come out of this paying as little as possible (and are not likely concerned with your happiness of the outcome) - make sure the work is done correctly and that you are properly compensated for any perceived loss in value - i.e. the car has now been in a wreck and future buyers will be more cautious if they pull a CarFax.

So, these guys will be able to just paint part of my car and match it exactly to what I currently have? Also, will that paint survive many years w/o it getting all dull? I had an Integra GS-R and the paint just sucked!!!

you shouldn't get a ticket for that. go to court for sure, the lady is making unsafe lane change and the cop is giving you a ticket. that doesn't make sense. the car behind you should get a ticket. he ramped into you, then you ram into the lady. the cop didn't see the whole thing when it happened, so he cannot give anyone a ticket.

Damn that hurts. I seen a accident just like that, but it was a old lady who got caught in the middle. Here's the pics I snapped:

What's sad is, she said she just got the car 2 weeks ago and bought it brand new...

If the paint doesn't match exactly, it should be so close that you can't tell - with a good shop doing the work anyway. Should last as long as the original paint with proper care. Good luck, man - never an enjoyable experience dealing with insurance companies and claims.

Is it possible that I could have avoided hitting the person in front of me had I better brakes than the factory ones?

with that slow speed, you could have avoided the accident with any brake.

I was going through my claim and found this information. I used to have an OEM body kit, but it seems they are replacing a part that is non OEM? There is no non-OEM body kit that looks exactly like the OEM kit, correct?

FRONT BUMPER
14 BDY OVERHAUL FRT BUMPER COVER ASSY 2.0
15 502440 BDY REMOVE/REPLACE FRT BUMPER COVER ** Non-OEM 229.00* INC
16 REF REFINISH FRT BUMPER COVER C 2.0

I think it means they are going to use a non-oem bumper cover to replace your old one.

BTW, I'm surprised they haven't totalled it. The rear end looks pretty jacked.

Hope it all works out.
