Hit 235,000 what's next?

I've had this '02 TL since 84,000 miles. It's been in multiple body damage Accidents (thank you wife &#128521 but runs swimmingly! Original transmission. It has an oil leak, which I'll be addressing soon, but other than that I have no complaints.

I've done countless minor repairs on it, including, but not limited to:
torque mount
new front struts
new oil pressure switches
new valve cover seals
tranny flush
new radiator
the list goes on but these have all been pretty simple things. I've been using for synthetic oil and high-quality filters every 3 to 5000 miles since 140,000 miles. My gas mileage has dropped a little in the past 30,000 miles, but I still get 22 to 25 miles per gallon. Most of my driving at highway. But there are some city too.

I had the timing belt replaced at 120,000 miles. So I guess my question is, should I have it done again? Or should I wait for a little while? I think The owners manual says 150,000 miles so that would give me until 270,000 miles at this point in time. The hardest part about just getting the timing belt replaced is that the car is not worth more than $1500 right now and the last time I had the timing belt replaced it cost over $500. If I had $500 laying around I would have no problem doing it, but I don't. Has anyone had their timing belt break in this vehicle before? And if so what was the mileage on the belt? I know that there's going to be a variance in mileage for how long belts last, but I'm just curious to see what other people have encountered before.

Thanks!!!

If you had the timing belt job at 120k I wouldn`t sweat it. Make the decision when it hits 270K if you still own the car at that time.

My car is worth about the same but I still do the normal maintenance and if it makes it 270K I would be happy to do it.

Finally the kit is a couple of hundred bucks if you have some skill and can follow some instructions. I think there is a DIY thread here somewhere.

Good job man. Mines 4 thousand away from it. And still looks and drives really well for the age and mileage. I have no complaints accept for the blower motor for the a/c. I plan on upgrading some things soon like some coilovers and switching out the rusty exhaust to a stainless steel.

That sounds good! My ac blower is fine, but it melted the connector so I had to hard wire it...

My clearcoat is falling off rapidly... I really want to get it repainted soon. After I fix the dents that is..

I told myself I wouldn't look for a new car until 300k. That's about 5 years from now in mileage.

It won't snap until way past 300k, so just keep changing the ATF until it's gone.
And you're changing the oil way too often: on synth you can go past 10k oci.
