Post High mileage TL's

It seems that most posters here have been owners of TL's for a short time. Are there any owners who have more than 45K miles? I need to hear if there have been any problems. I have a 99 TL with 47K miles and the only problems have been the parking brake rubber pad keeps falling off and warping brake rotors. Acura has turned them 3x and said they will replace them if they warp again. Otherwise I love the car and planning to keep it to 100K. I'm also thinking about trading in my I-30 for a new TL Type S or CL. Any thoughts?

Welcome. Get a TL.

I know a guy who has 60k on his 99. Only problems were his windshield wiper controls.

He didn't mention brakes.

I get a 96 2.5TL with 73,500 miles on it, so far the only problem is rear brake pad worn out at 20,000 mi (inner pad wear), and a burn out right front parking light bulb, also change 4 tires at 50,000 mi and oil change every 7,500 mi.

I also have a 99TL. My TL has 46K miles on it. The only major problem that I have is the brakes. The car and steering wheel shakes when I press on the brakes. I guess my rotors are warped. Other then this, my TL has been trouble-free.

'99 with 62,000.

Problems: warped rotors, squeaky seat, and I guess that is about it!

Wait to see the changes made for the 2003 TL Type S and also the next generation Lexus ES300. I hear that Lexus is such high quality that it will amaze you.

1999 TL here - overall good.
1. Gas Gauge Malfunction - Replaced
2. D4 Light Blown out - Replaced
3. Interior Door Trim hanging - Fixed
4. Overall still pretty good in quality, but a car built in Japan, wouldn't have these kind of minor defects.

Your I30 probably held you off well.

I have 35000 on my 99. Seat rails and leather on the front seat are the only things replaced. Alittle warpping in the rotors.

I have a 99 TL. I have 30,500 miles on it. I haven't had any mechanical problems yet. Just the rattles and creaks. I think i might have a hole in my exhaust but its hopefully under warantee.

What's an exhaust butt. Just kidding. Keep an eye out for your rotors. After reading all the other rotor problems, I think I am going to insist to the Acura rep to replace them instead of turning them. Maybe... Brembos.
