I'm looking for an alternative light bulb. Instead of 9005 which is only highbeam. Are there any other bulbs that would fit the 9005 slot? I'm looking for low/high bulb for the high beam.

Planning to have the low beam part come on with the HIDs and the High beam when I need it.

 

Don't think anything fits the 9005 just right. You'll probably need to buy dual beam bulbs like 9004s and mod the base so it'll fit the 9005 hole. The 9004 bulb would probably work best since it's bigger so you can shave it smaller.

I dont think so but I dont know if that would look too good. A lot of ppl will probably think that you have your highs on too until you flash your highs. The wiring for it is not hard and I dont think it should be so bad to rebase it. Get some broken 9005 or 9006 bulbs. You will probably also have to change the 9005 sockets to 9004 sockets if u choose to use those bulbs.

 

I'm not sure how i'm gonna retrofit it. But I guess I'll try it out.

Their bases are so different.
