If they can't take it from you, maybe they will just brake it because they are pissed off....

Harsh, hope it doesn't spread to Canada.
Though there is hardly ever anything going on in Canada, but it is definitely a peaceful place to live.

I from Taiwan, where matters worse there, u know what i say.

Is anyone out here curious as to how easy it is to take them off. Maybe we can do some pre-cautionary action, besides shooting the bastards. I would like to drill one of these slammers with my paint gun. I be sure to put my pellets in my freezer first.

Cool

Do a search in the TL section, it's happened to a couple of people. One guy even had his mirrors stolen too!! The first thing I'm doing when I get my car is getting a new alarm with shock sensors. The stock alarm sucks and is basically a keyless entry that prevents the car itself from being stolen. You should also look into replacing the screws with a different type of screw head, like allen key or something.....

most likely the thieves pop the hood open either from the outside of the vehicle or from the inside. the best way to combat this is to install a maxi-guard hood lock. it's a device that prevents the hood from being open with out key. i've had these installed on a few of my vehicles. it makes it difficult if not impossible to steal your lights then.

It is true, a hood lock is a waste for us. There are only two screws per light, and the bumper is only plastic.

ACURA needs to redesign the light assembly IMMEDIATLEY for the refresh, in my opinion!

No, Honda only needs to provide reasonable cost dealer HID option for Civics, Accords and Integras.
You can't stop anyone from jacking your lights no matter how hard it is. You can only try to convince them that there is no point doing it. If there is no market for it, there is no incentive.

I'm keeping my vehicle on a short tether, but has anyone heard of "headlight theft" in Atlantic City's casino parking lots. Perhaps this will be an economy move for me yet!!

I'm just wondering why that newspaper article referred to BMW and Mercedes as "high-end models" while calling Acura a "mid-range luxury" vehicle. This is the biggest problem Acura is facing right now. They build a superior product, sell it for tens of thousands less, and don't get respect from the snob crowd. I own an Acura and a BMW, and I will ramble on at length to anyone who's interested on all the ways the Acura is superior!!

Agreed. Acura could also make the HIDs an option as with some other luxury car makers, so the thieves are discouraged being that he/she can't tell whether the car targeted has HIDs or not. In any event, I have heard hood locks won't work because there is simply not enough room for one, and the bastards just rip apart the plastic bumpers to get to it. Park in attended lots, or in areas with good amount of pedestrian traffic is your best bet. DA

TL is not superior.

My TL has suffered from poor workmanship and lousy mileage.

Although my 530i costs nearly twice as much as the TL. The car is solid while delivering better gas mileage.

For twice the price, I'd say the TL has a lot of slack over the 530i (or anything else, for that matter), but if you're happy with the car, more power to you (and it).

All the best!!!

BEING FROM BROOKLYN AND HAVING PURCHASED MY CAR FROM PLAZA ACURA I ALSO HAVE BEEN TOLD TO BE AWARE THAT THEY ARE STEALING THEM. AS FOR WHAT YOU CAN DO, THE ANSWER IS NOTHING !! THE MAXIGUARD IS A WASTE CONSIDERING THAT THEY JUST BREAK THE HEADLIGHT FROM THE OUTSIDE AND BEND THE HOOD BACK TO GET AT IT. THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THE HEADLIGHT JUST THE HID'S. GOOD LUCK TO ALL, THATS WHY WE PAY INSURANCE

Yeah, if you add up all the money he spent on those five cars, he could have bought something REALLY impressive!

How about buying a car cover? Cover up your car before you turn in, and a)New thieves won't immediately realize it's an Acura, and b)It's that much more trouble for him to steal... maybe he'll move on. Maybe.
