Hey guyz what's up, I just recently joined this forum - and I have a coupla quick questions. I'm currently thinking of purchasing a '99 - '01 tl, but I was kinda worried of getting my HID's jacked... I was wondering what areas in nj are in danger of this. Also, does anyone know if they get jacked in jersey city?

Dun worry about the HID being jacked. Just park it somewhere safe and carry a shotgun with you all the time. just shoot the motherf*cker's head off when you see him trying to jack it.

 

HID's can get jacked anywhere... beverly hills, bel air, livingston, etc etc...

if possible theft is keeping you from getting the car, id say ignore it. get a good alarm system and just forget about it. its almost like worrying about having your car stolen. theres always the possibility of it

 

if u are planning to get a TL try to get 2000-2001 b/c the 99's only have 4 speed transmissions......

 

Yeah and more prone of tranny failure there as well

 

Move out of the northern Jersey/NYC area and your lights are safe. Hell, that's not a bad idea anyway.

 

if they're gonna get jacked...ain't much you can do about it. depends where you are in jersey city...have you heard of st. anthony friars?

 

Wouldn't it be cool to install mod that would capture the theif that was atempting to jack your HIDS. Perhaps like a lasso. And to incorporate a taser would be nice too.

I wonder if this problem will go away once HIDS become more common in new cars.

 

I doubt the problem will ever go away, but I've yet to hear about thefts here in Atlanta. Although I'm sure it does happen. If it ever does happen to my car..... well then I may be in jail for murder!
