HID lowbeam headlight working on and off?

Recently the passenger side of my lowbeam HID headlight started to give me a problem. Basically it worked for most of the time but occasionally it doesn't work. What could be the possible reason? I checked the fuses under the hood and it seemed fine.

Thanks folks.

it could be the bulb itself, the ignitor or the ballast.

The best thing to do is try a known good bulb in the problem side, then go from there.

Change the bulb first to see if that might be the problem... if it's not that, it could either be your ballast or igniter.....

Best bet would go for an aftermarket HID kit..

was there a pink/purple tint at first minute of light on? that's bulb death by age
may as well do a full replacement `kit` that includes bulbs matched to their power parts

Do you have any moisture inside the headlight lens after washing or rain?
thats fried important parts as water drips out and onto the ballast

If you scroll or search on here for headlight - a lot of threads! so common we have a few DIYs on the job

If you have prob of turns on- goes out on corners and bumps, goes off while simply driving down the road and takes a few times flicking switch to come on = time to replace the decade + old hid parts
Its really easy because we have hid, to install a `kit` with new modern ballast ignitor and new bulbs, cut a few connectors and splice in new ones = easy

suggest 35 watt kit (same as stock) with 5000k color bulbs- (stock was 4300)

a good supplier for us is www.hidextra.com ck online for coupon codes for them
call 800 number and tell them acurazine sent you for best price they can do
