HID on low beam only?

Question HID on low beam only?

May be this was asked before...why isn't the high beam in HID also?

To cut costs, and even then most cars with HIDS dont have them for high beams anyways.

I don't know if any car currently does (probably the most upscale vehicles if any) but the technology exists:

I believe the high end Porsche's have HID high beams. What happens is when you flip on your high beams, a mirror readjusts a part of the light. That's the only car I heard of having HID high beams. It's too expensive to actually have a seperate balast for high beams, plus the nature of the high beam (on and off, on and off) will not work with the HID because of the way they work....

I spoke with the parts department at an Acura dealer yesterday and inquired the option of having HID high beams and they told me that it would be a $1,000 upgrade. OK, I think I can see just fine with OEM highs.
