HID Issue (New Question)
HID Issue (New Question)
So either my ballast or inverter is out. I'm pretty sure the inverter is out, which is a $215 fix.
My question is, why would I go through the trouble of buying an expensive inverter when I can just get this (House of HID Link) and have an extra on hand for whenever the other goes out? It's not like it HAS to be the oem ballast/inverter, right?

One of the ballasts failed during winter (because they're cheaply made) and the light output/color did not match the oem ballasts. It also took three times as long for the AM ballast to warm up compared to the oem one.
At the time I chose to run one AM ballast and leave the passenger side as is because it was working no problems. The only reason I had to replace the driver's side is because I had the common headlight condensation problem. I had no idea what it would eventually do and it took a failed ballast for me to realize that I needed to get the headlight dried out and resealed.
