HID help please

I have a 2003 acura tl and I have the bumper off and the headlight housing off already... In ready to install the new HIDS I got from HID EXTRA. I posted a pic of the wire that I think has to be cut( the gray adapter that went to the old ballast).is this correct? Also when I cut the old adapter off, is that where I run the new ballast wire and splice them in together? Also where would a good place be to mount the new ballast so I won't have to take off bumper to get to it?Any help would be greatly appricated

I posted about this not too long ago...

I ended up cutting those off and soldering them to the OE connectors and wrapping them with electrical tape. Haven't had any issues and i jus installed them a month ago and haven't had any problems since.

I've seen some people mount the new ballast where the old ballast were with some minor fabrication. Otherwise anywhere where water won't be able to reach.

you have the female spade connectors to go on the OE wire after you cut off the connector? red to red black to black, use shrink tubing to prevent water entry!!

there are a few threads in diy and main section and problems area with titles like HIDextra install- clean, or hidextra for 03

ballast on back of bumper or inside of fender- as seen in pics on those threads
Extra wire can be looped and tucked under the headlight housing as you slide it back in place

Some have even left OE ballast in place and attached the new unit right to it!
