Hid fog question

I've seen/heard many ppl have their fogs converted to HID fogs. One of my main questions are... Besides making the hid bulb fit the fog light housing... wouldnt it burn or melt the housing considering what i have heard from the HIDS being to hot and what not? And will i need some kinda special kit or will ne HID ballast work? for example a stock hid ballast that our low beams use... If anyone can shed some light... plz.

Check with songoku, he had used 7th agen accord fogs I believe. I have not see the HIDs melt the 02/03, 7th gen accord or 02-05 rsx housings so it should be good. It is a little cooler than the stock halogens in the 02/03. you basically need a ballast and a bulb that rebased would be better of course. If not you can make it fit thru some custom work I guess.

i bought a kit off ebay and it installed with out cutting any wires. i have no metal peice on my fogs and the beam is great. i don't have any problems from heat with lexan lenses and metal coating has not been affected at all.

demo, hook it up thru a relay from the battery when you get a chance. I am not fond of those inline installs with the stock wiring. No short term effects really maybe some very slight flickering when starting up, not but long term there are.

i know when i clean my intake filter im gonna get the relay. they do flicker. i also want to run a ground from the highbeams so they don't shut off. also need to mod the turn signals so they only light up when blinking.

well then thats a tough question. i would search on ebay for some fogs that are oem. and you would have to mod them to fit in your bumper and mount them. then find an hid kit for that bulb size and you will be fine. the hardest part is going to be finding the housing.
