Hid Diy

Does any know where I can get a DIY for replacing the HID bulbs? And what tools you need and if there is anything I need to look out for when swapping them out.

THX

You'll need a special allen key to take screw #3 out. Personally, I was able to get by it with a set of heavy-duty needle nose pliers (pain in the ass...but dooable).

Once you take that out and unscrew the cover off (#10)...you'll be able to see the igniter (#2)

Twist the igniter a quarter-turn and it'll expose the bulb held on by a metal clip that the picture doesn't show. Unclip, replace and rewind and you'll be set.

Thx, is the clip hard to take off and put back on? And before I put in the new bulb, should I wipe it with some rubbing alcohol or something to get off any prints or etc..?

Sounds like you've exchanged bulbs before. If you want to clean the bulbs go ahead. As far as the allen wrench is concerned...I suggest taking a look at it first before you go buying anything. With a small enough flathead screw driver, I'm pretty sure you can twist it off.

Yup...but like I said....go outside and take a look first. It'll make sense to you if you just saw it in person.

I believe you need a secure torx 20 (or was it 12?) screw driver. Make sure you get secure torx, because the regular torx won't work. When I changed mine, I just used a small flat headscrew driver. It worked out just fine.

I also disconnected the ballast also since it run such high voltage.......atleast disconnect your battery. Better safe then dead.
