HID bulb replacement

My drivers side HID bulb went out and I replaced it along with the passenger side. Here the problem; my drivers side light is not projecting light in a focused beam like my passenger side, its more dispersed like a standard halogen light. I've tried turning the bulb in the socket and cliping it into place multiple times and still cannot get it to look like the passenger side. Is this how the drivers side headlight is supposed to function or am i doing something wrong, please help, thank you.

Its only the drivers side bulb? Both are new bulbs right? Try swapping bulbs to the opposite sides to see if it does the same there. The bulb should really only go in 1 way

Actually you can put it in 4 different directions. There are 4 slots to fit the bulb into the socket. Now i see that part of the light bulb is covered with some type of paint. Does the painted side go up or down?

I didn't want to start a new thread and this was the newest headlight thread...

QUESTION: Are the high beams run off the ballasts too? Trying to figure out if my headlight going out is the ballast or just the bulb without having to take things apart to switch the bulbs.

OK cool...

When I turn on the low beams, I get a buzzing sound for a few seconds then it stops. This sound only comes from the driver's side, which is the side that the light is out. I can make a quick video to get the actual sound if that would help diagnose better.
