HID Balasat replacement question
Yes I know how to use the search button, however I cannot find specifically this answer.
I, like many TL owners had one of my ballasts go out on me (Swapped in new bulbs to be sure it wasn't only the bulb). Obviously I can spend 150-200 bucks to get a replacement oem ballast but I figured Id take this opportunity to upgrade to 35w aftermarket HIDs and ballasts. Ive ordered a few sets for different cars from ddmtunning.com and I am happy with the prices and the quality. Obviously installing HIDs in cars that were not factory equip with HIDs is different than the opposite. I am aware that there is a few wires than need to be cut and wired into the ballasts but does anyone have a link to a thread that has pictures or diagrams of what wires get cut and wired to what? Any help is MUCH appreciated.. kinda tired of rolling around with one headlight..
Also.. Other than the working bulbs and replacement ballasts is there anything that I need to buy to do the swap? Again..thanks

Have ya tried checking the 2nd Gen's "DIY" sticky ?
There's been many previous posted threads with detailed installation tips for aftermarket HID kits.

It's not that complicated; there is only one wire going to the OEM ballasts!
New ballasts usually have female 9006 inputs. The connector into our OEM ballasts is two wires. You will cut the connector off, and be left with those 2 wires. Use a digital multimeter and determine the polarity (+) and (-) of the 2 wires. You can then buy a male 9006 connector and put these two wires into it, so that it literally plugs into the new ballast.
That's what I did with mine, and it worked, and is working great!
