Hey I have an interesting question

I have a 99 Tl and I was wondering if the 5 speed auto can be used in the Tl which originally used a 4 speed. I figured the wire harness would be slightly different. So can some please give me some words of advice with mentioning a 6 speed.

if you are looking into a tranny swap, you might as well go 6spd or don't change trannies at all. from what i've heard the 4spds are more reliable than the 5 speeds and all you'll be doing is swapping into more problems.

^ correct... what is your reason for wanting to swap?

if its speed.. you wont notice a difference...
if its reliability.. stick with your 4 speed.

6speed is the only way to go when it comes to a swap.

i have an 03 accord 6 speed on the way as we speak

Most likely you will have to change all of the wiring and harnesses in order to make it work.

OK so the wiring harness is different probably because of the extra solenoid on the transmission so therefore the ecu that controls the 99 is different and the harness doesn't have enough connections to matte the 5speed to it OK. I dont have a tl I was just asking the question because I got a 5 speed auto tranny for my accord and now i need a very cheap alternative to make it run in my av6 so really the only option for me is the j32a2 or j32a1 out a 2000-2003 tl or cl or up ok thanks for the help.

01-03 cl-p or 00-03 tl-p. u can also do the type s conversion or get the P engine and do a 3.5 swap

the short answer is no, not a direct bolt up- would require way more than its worth to do
