Damn with $1700 bucks I'd say you redo your whole exhaust and you would be satisfied. Most of your budget would go to Comptech headers or if your lucky mabe $800 dollars of it and match it with the Comptech Axelbacks because the Catback is almost pointless it's not very necessary. Also go with the AEM V2 it's the best CAI for a TL IMO. When your throttle opens up you will be totally amazed and satisfied with the sound and the pick-up. Other little things are brake upgrades and if you don't have some already find some nice 18's and drop em on that sucka.

I'll have to agree with Tunaboy. CAI($200) Used catback in decent condition($400-$600) and some decent 18"s ($1200) baamm baamm... tissy...

if you wanna go with looks, i would definately go with the acura ground effect kit (mabye 900 bucks) and some lowering springs. you can find this stuff on this website under "store", or try looking on ebay or type it in on google. kit and drop makes the car look sooooo much better.

however, if u wanna go with performance, listen to these guys.....

you have to have a mix between looks and performance. Rims with headers and an axelback would be perfect because the CAI you can install yourself... It takes 10 mins if you are good with the tools. For the money that would be the best way to go because getting the headers and the exhaust installed at the same time would save you some money... Up to you though. Get the CAI later. THe car will still sound awsome with the headers and exhaust...

CAI - 180 dollars
Comptech headers (used) - 600 dollars
Comptech mufflers (used) - 400 dollars

That will improve your car's performance tremendously. So far, we have spent 1180. We have 520 dollars left over.

With that, get Comptech sway bars to improve handling -- 300 dollars new
With the leftover 220 dollars, get H&R Sport springs to lower the car.

It'll be like driving a whole new car.

Axleback only replaces the mufflers.

Catback replaces the mufflers and the B-pipe (the pipe from the catalytic converter to the mufflers) for a better flow. But our exhaust system is pretty nicely designed already and doesn't have too much backpressure. You will see like 4 hp gain from the mufflers and a bit more from the catback. But it will sound nicer.

Headers, you want to go with Comptech. They are the best for our cars. If you want to save money, you can buy a new set of OBX headers for about 300 bucks. They are nearly as good for performance, but is of less quality. That's what I have, as I didn't have the money for Comptech headers. I get some resonance at 1500 and 3500 RPM, but nothing I can't live with.

how is the sound of the OBX headers compared to the sound from the comptech headers. my issue is that i dont want the car to be horribly loud.

I wouldnt go with OBX headers due the Cracking problems

COMPTECH headers are 1100 Plus install
so that would blow his moneyh

So then go with CAI CATBACK and save up some more and get the turning upgraded
