HELP!! Trying to figure this Big/Magic 3 Wire Upgrade out for TL's
For the 2000 TL Electrical System... If I wanted to do this and achieve optimal results with replacing only 3 wires... Where would they go?
http://forum.sounddomain.com/forum/u...c;f=5;t=007801
This weekend we added 2 guage to the existing from the (+) battery terminal to the fuse then out from the fuse to the alternator. I'm done with that one.. then we left the starter wire alone.
I think that's the only one we did right lol...
Then on the negative terminal... We left the stock (-) to the chassis for some reason... and the one that goes down to the block... We just added a 2 guage and haven't connected it yet to a missing screw hole... It's a hole on the right side of the engine... a pretty big screw and then I'll connect that.
I don't think this has been done right, but I'll fix it when I find out how lol.
So basically,
I havent' upgraded the (-) battery to the chassis or the Engine to the Chassis
AM I SUPPOSED TO EVEN CONNECT THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL TO THE ENGINE?

The dude told me that it's best to go from that empty screw hole on the right side of our engines to the stock chasis ground next to the battery... but scrape the paint off. Then upgrade the negative terminal to the same ground on the chassis... and I'm done

its best to replace all your grounds (if your doing it might as well do it right). battery to engine and engine to chassis

I just added and left the stock wire alone...
I added 2 guage wire from the (+) battery to the fuse box then down to the alternator (+).
Then I added 2 guage from (-) to the chassis
Then I added 2 guage from the block to the chassis.
yay... it's not that hard... So I hardwired my radar detector and did these wires in about 2 hrs because it was my first time to do this stuff... okay maybe 3 hrs...lol
