Help with SRS light on
Help with SRS light on
well i was tinckering around with the fuse box on the drivers side and i pulled the fuse on the instrument panel to see if it would kill the miles for shits and giggles and i put it back , but when i did i noticed the check engine light came on and the srs light also came on, i managed to turn off the check engine light, but does anyone know how to turn off the srs light?
thanx

One morning my SRS light refused to go off in my 2000TL, so I called my dealer. He told me to bring it in ASAP. There was a faulty sensor in the seat belt receiver. I'd take it in pronto, just in case it's more than the light.

Here are the instrustions for resetting the SRS light.
1. two wires green in a yellow block (small)
2. under dash left of steering wheel as the driver sits.
3. smaller yellow block is the right one and is located one inch above another bigger yellow wire block which has a spring loaded connector.
Jump it with the paper clip, turn the car on, wait for the SRS light to go off, yank the paperclip out. It'll light up again, shove the paperclip back in...then it'll turn off. Yank it out. It'll then blink twice to tell you it's reset.
Don't worry about the timings...just do it as soon as you see the light change (and do it quick).
I cut a thin paperclip to about 2cm long, then bent it with needle nosed pliars so it looked like a staple. Then I just used the needle nosed pliars to push it in and out of the plug. Just be careful to shove it into the right side of the plug...the one side of the hole doesn't contact the metal.

wow mine has been on for over a year, thanks! i tried it for 30 minutes by myself and i could never get it to work, but when i called my neighbor to help, i got it on the second try, THANKS AGAIN! WOOT WOOT
I followed the procedure but it's not working. I put the paper clip in and turned on the car the light went off. I pulled the paper clip out and light came on. I shoved the paper clip back in and the light never turned off again. I tried several times always same results. I pulled the paper clip out fast and slow always same results. Is there something else wrong?
