HELP! Spraypaint on my car!

I got overspray from spray paint all over the front of my car. How would I go about getting it off? I tried cleaner wax and it didn't work. Clay didn't help either. What should I do?

Have a professional detail shop buff it out for you. Be prepared to pay several hundred dollars. If you have a low comprehensive deductible on your insurance, you might want to report it to them in case they can't buff it out and you need a whole new paint job.

3M makes a product called Finesse It. It's a "micro-finishing compound" that will remove minor paint imperfections, overspray, and "orange peel". It should be readily available from most automotive paint supply stores.

Once you've removed all of the overspray, don't forget to reapply wax for protection

I agree, have your car professionally buffed.. It should remove overspray.

I couldn't believe how far the paint traveled. I was painting the bars on our gate. I moved my car about 50+ feet away from where I was painting but now there is a mist of it all over my car. I am so pissed off at myself.

calm down!

if you keep your car waxed, you should be ok. a detailer should be able to get it off

i wax mine every 6 months. the dealer, you heard me, the dealer got black paint on my doors, the detailer was able to get it off

im surprised wax/polish/clay didnt work

id say try getting a quality type polish/wax. if that doesnt work, a detailer should be able to take it out for $100 or so

i doubt your going to have to repaint the whole hood

Ok, after about five coats of cleaner on a one square foot area, it came off. It took me about an hour of buffing. If I have to do the whole car like this, I am screwed so I will just pay the 100 bucks and get it machined tomorrow. Thanks for all your help.

WHEW!!!!! I was beginning to feel like a moron thinking that 3M stuff was excellent! The irony of it all is that when you take your car to get it done by a Professional he's using 3M Car Care Products!! LMAO!! Okay....I'm done!
