HELP: Removing the door panel trims
So I decided that I wanted to go ahead and try removing the door panels so I could repaint the trim like NSXNEXT on https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...t=nsxnext+trim. However I'm kinda confused about how to remove the trim....
I took the door panel off, and I want to be careful cuz people said you have to break the trim, and if you mess up, you have to buy the whole panel. There are a couple of screws behind the door, is it necessary to remove these? I also could slip a flathead screwdriver in between the top of the trim and the door, and it seemed like I could pull it out, but I might break it. I'm not sure if I need to remove anything else. Help me please! Thanks.

ok so i unscrewed the pocket for the door wiht the window controls. I now see the trim is attached in four points by this black connection. I'm not sure how the best way to approach removing it from this black connector. I was thinking of cutting it, but it's not really working too well. Any suggestions?

Ok so I read that someone used a boxcutter to cut into the black piece. I went from the back and trimmed out the 4 pieces. Here's pics of the door panel so far, with the pocket removed and of the front and back.

Here's the pic of what I cut out, I went behind the circle and cut it.

The center is what I cut, that circular thingy.
Here's it removed.

I was trying to cut on the inside of the door trim, where the black piece connects to the wood trim. Not sure if this would be better, but its a lot harder because there is little freedom of movement.
So I cut around one of the black circular things in the back with the boxcutter that I have from work, and it popped the piece out after I cut all four. But damn the plastic is thick and hard, and it takes awhile if you want to be careful not to break anything.
Anyone know if its hard to put it back in with the method that i used? I was thinking to put the trim back in, to use some adhesive or glue and put it back into the holes. Is there an easier way, cuz I got three more doors to go... but yeah... if anyone has input on how to go that would be great. I still need to buy the paint and get the center consoles/other doors :\.

Center console is easy just pull up and toward the back of the car(make sure the armrest is up). As far as getting those door pieces back in after cutting the plastic welds, JB weld or some bondo would probably work pretty well.
