How long is long?

Yup, gas always helps!
Map (if you're non-navi)
Flahlight
Communication device (eg. cell phone)
Water/food (just in case you get stranded)
Blanket (again.. just in case)

Make sure you check tire pressure, engine oil level, etc before you leave.

Make sure you leave the seat heater on LOW because it'll stay on but if you leave it on HIGH it'll turn off after it reaches a certain temp!!!!

-Alot of CD's
-Bottled water
-don't forget your cell phone!!!
-Make sure your tire pressure is right!!!
-Have fun!!!!!!

Make sure that you have all the needed tools to change your tire. and don't forget the special tire locknug (the one that dealer installed on my tl so that my rims will get taken off). If you smoke, don't forget extra boxes of smokes...

Check air pressure; low pressure in tires can cause a dangerous blowout at freeway speeds. Remember to use the pressure recommended in the manual, not on the tire. The pressure shown on the side of the tire is the maximum pressure, and inflating it to that pressure will reduce road adhesion. Don't forget the spare tire - not much worse than a blowout and discovering the spare is flat!

You are checking all the vital fluids at each fuel stop, aren't you? You might give the belts a visual check as well...
