i usually do not write in this forum but i have been reading posts in the path monthes that i have been driving the TL.

well today in the evening i went to pick up my mother at work, i parked behind this van. i was sittin in the car waiting for my mother to come out and this can backed in and just hit my car.. at this point i got out of the car and look at the front end where he had hit. He had hit it right where the license plate number was and from what i can see there are no scratches or dents, just my license plate is bent. the guy was willing to pay for any damages cash since he didn't want to go to insurance. i said i will have the car looked at and give him a call back..

so my question is do you think there can be any damages done to the car under the hood by this shock? from what i can remember it wasn't that hard. im going to the dealership tomorrow (since they are closed already) to get it checked out for any problems. im just worried right now of any problems....

and when i ask the dealer to check any problems will there be any charge for them inspecting the car?????? this is my first accident that happened since i started driving so im kinda still feeling weird and worried.....

 

hey man...that sucks. there shouldn't be a charge for checking the car out....just see if everything on the bumper/hood lines up, like the lights and the sides of the bumper and stuff.....have THEM check the energy absorber inside the bumber.....doesn't sound like too hard of a hit though.....as for the front plate, loose it...it'll look better after anyway. let us know how it goes. also, check to see if the bumper is scratched or dented BEHIND the plate if you haven't already done so. hope this helps. -shawn

 

If you take it to the dealer and tell them that somebody bumped you will the dealer report it as an accident so it shows up on your carfax report?

 

Can anyone confirm if what onelic is true???.. cause if that is the case i don't know if i should be taking it to the dealer....

 

the stealership will charge you, cauz they are asses. And no, they will not report you. It might only stay in their database for future references.
