HELP! Just installed Injen CAI
Hey all. I just finished installing my Injen CAI with AEM bypass. Everything seems to be in place. However, I just took her around the block, revving the engine to hear that awesome vtec sound, and when I got back home and lifted the hood, I found that one of the hoses had burned the insulation on the ceiling of my hood! I set my intake up pretty much exactly like Juniorbean's.
Check out his intake picture here. I'm talking about the left-most orange tube. The fatter one. I believe this is the tube that carries the coolant -- I may be wrong here. If so, correct me. Back to the problem: the orange tube looks somewhat burnt with a little blackness, but the ceiling of the hood has a clear burn mark. What do I do here?
I basically ignored the Injen instructions in that I didn't fully replace the stock metal tubes (the black tubes coming out of the bottom left hand corner of the picture that angle diagnally towards the center of the picture) with the rubber hoses provided with my intake. I opted for Juniorbean's setup and just cut the Injen tubes so as to make them extensions to the stock metal tubes. I need to make sure this fat tube doesn't touch the ceiling of my hood, but it is very difficult to tie it down.
Any thoughts? I'm not sure what to do, and this is my first time messing with the engine bay.
Thanks in advance.

I had my injen intake installed for about 1 month now..but i replaced the metal tubing.... i don't have any problems...and i can't see how you are getting burn marks on the tubing. Maybe the metal tubing is rubing against the hood the car while u are driving.
the only problem with my injen 1 piece intake is that the intake rubs against the oval metal frame. It's like the bracket on the intake is off a bit and i can't move it any farther from the metal frame...it rubbed for about 1 week before i took a look at it...it shaved off almost into the intake. I just used so electrical tape to cover it up and to protect it from rubbing
Do you think if i called injen, and tell them what happen they will replace it?
