Help! How do you take gold plating off of emblems/badges?

Need to know how to take gold plating off my TL. The dealer just plated the chrome OEM grill and badges, but I'm not a big fan of the gold. The gold plating has already corroded, so I want it back to the original chrome. I don't really want to spend money to buy new badges. Any ideas would help.
Thanks

the only options you have are to paint them (body color) or to buy the chrome ones.

Yeah I doubt you'd end up with anything good once you've stripped the gold plating. I think if you had them sandblasted and repainted body color it would look hot.

Don't think it's possible to remove just the gold. The "chrome" would come off with it. If you don't want to spring for chrome, try painting them body color or black. I'd recommend the outer trim and emblem FPR and the wings black. Like this:

That looks cool, I never thought of doing it that way.

Might be the way to go.

after looking at those 2 pics for a while, I like the second one with the body color painted grill and black A. The first one looks like rudolph the red nosed reindeer.

Any idea what a shop would charge to do that?

How do you think the wings would look if they were also red?

Now what do I do with the back end, the emblems are all gold trimed? just leave them gold. Most would probably say just to debadge the back, but I don't know it I really want to do that.

alright Redevil, cuz I'm a nice guy I was lookin thru my old recipts for you........
I had ordered some type-s emblems off ebay from an ACTUAL ACURA DEALER for my side panels and got them real cheap, like half the price of what the dealers around here wanted. ( and they were in factory packaging brand new honda part)

Go on ebay and look for Acura of Escondido. It's in California.
www.stores.ebay.com/acuraofescondidoparts
They have the best deals on emblems on ebay. Brand new plus you get the acura warrenty on them. If you don't see the part your looking for, just call and ask to speak to Scott Edwards. His name is on my Acura recipt that he sent with my emblems.

When you get your chrome emblems/and or wings just pop the gold ones off. Or take it to your dealer and have them put them on for ya.

Hope that helps......... keep us posted.........holla
