Help with holes...

Hey all, happy NYE,

I'm going for the clean look so I took of my front plate. While two of the holes are on the underside of the front bumper, two are right smack in the middle.

Is there any decent way to get rid of that? Help!

Thanks,

Joe

you could always fill the holes with fiber glass resin and then use your color code paint to paint over it. This would make it look unoticeable if you did a good enough and smoothe enought job with the resin and paint

unless you are a professional don't try to fill in the hole and paint the bumper, you will just end up messing it up

tru tru but if you have experience with the fiberglass resin (which i do cause i use it constantly to do things on boats) that job is very doable

i wouldnt use that, the bumper is plastic and with the shrinking and expanding of plastic in hot/cold weather the resin will crack. if you wanted to do it correctly you could go to a automotive paint store and they should sell plastic weld, its a 2 part epoxy that bonds to plastic. its kinda like bondo, it sands real easy and is paintable. its what the body shops use. a little patience and a weekend and you could do it your self with out any one being able to tell. (if you got the correct color paint that is)

yup, good point, fiber glass bondo would be for fg only, for the bumper you will need some sort of plastic bondo with elasticity

I just put the bolts back in the holes as far as they would go. You won't loose them that way and they're already black so they blend right in.

I already have the Acura SSM touchup paint (brush not spray). That sounds like a perfect idea for this holiday weekend. Do you think it would be better with the spray? (Actually, does Acura even do spray touch-up paints?).

As usual, ya'll saved my ass.

Thanks to all who replied!

Drive safe out there tonight. I know we all drive like ninjas but it's the other asshats I worry about.

What the heck are some dealers doing???? the factory plate holder only uses two holes underneath the bumper; no one should ever drill the front of your bumper.

Low grade crack is the only thing I can thing of. It really pisses me off that I have to deal with it. I was gonna see if they'd fix it, but the dealer's bodyshop is ass far away. Alas...

Peace,

Joe
