Patrick,

Whoa, that's alot of questions! Welcome.

1. Supercharger is not out yet. But Comptech is in the process of developing one and has been testing it on a 2000 TL. The first showed this off on a CL-S at SEMA last year. Expected cost = $5K

2. Speed mods that will help are: Headers, CAI, and exhaust. Also there is this thing you will hear alot about in the coming months called RES aka Mystery Mod. It is an intake manifold that helps you gain roughly 15hp torqe accross the band.

3. You want high performance I'm assuming for speed right? Then 19" wheels would only slow you down unless they were very light Forged Japanese wheels. If you are into speed, 17" or 18" wheels are a better choice. 19" seem like they would be more for looks than speed. Also, a good set of performance tires would help you HP to the ground.

4. Don't forget about suspension upgrades such as springs, shocks, and sway bars.

5. WW body kit will fit all 99-01 models. And the 02+ models, only the sides and back will fit.

6. CAI is a cold air intake, it's longer than the Short Ram, and it draws in air from the front lower bumper area rather than the air inside the engine. There are benifits and disadvantages to both.

7. Navi is worth it if you do alot of driving traveling and find yourself going to many unfamiliar places. Also, it is good if you live in an area that has more metropolitan areas that would show up on the Navi.

8. Lastly, why don't you just go for a 2002 or 2003 model TL-S? It has 35 more HP than the 2001 and older models. And there is a color that is really nice that was not available in prior years: Anthracite - a dark grayish color (2003 TL-S/P and 2002 TL-P). :wow:

I like the new features of the TLS and styling alot more than the 2001 and older models. You won't regret getting a newer one.

coilovers: are adjustable springs ... meaning you can go from stock to about 3" drop ( on some brands of coilovers)
shocks: some of the members have tokico, kyb, its all a matter of preference
sway bars: alot have comptech and alot seem to like them the best .
springs: you can also get comptech springs, h&r springs, eibach , theres a couple more i forget them tho
good luck and welcome

Coilover are adjustible where springs are not.

In this pic, you can see the springs and sleeves that fit over the stock shocks. There are also some coilovers that have new shocks included.

The ring at the bottom of the spring can be turned around the coil to allow how much you want the spring to be dropped.

Many people who get springs are still using the stock shocks, but then there are others who upgrade both at the same time. This is because shock help you adjust the firmness of the ride and it takes exactly as much work to change the shocks as it is the springs. Installation cost.

Sways are supposed to help with the body roll of your car while doing high speed turing.

Handle well and go fast is what all of us want

But if you want extreme fast, you could put NOS in your car if you liked. Many of the FL members have NOS in their TLs. In fact, you should look at the Meets forum to see when the next one is in your area so that you can check out what some of the mods look like in person.

If you have other questions, don't be afraid to ask; there are hundreds of members willing to help.

Also, try doing a for many of the questions you may have. I'm sure it has been discussed at one time or another.

Cheers

Edub

Ack don't send him down the Comptech road! Just because Comptech charges double a lot on here think they're the best. Granted, if you want no warranty issues I can't argue, and if you get them installed by Acura too you'll keep that warranty. But I have Neuspeed sways and they perform quite a bit better than Comptech. There are also numerous arguments about CT springs versus Neuspeed...Eibach etc...and various other things.

And the exhaust is a looks and sounds mod...not a power mod. It'll only give you max 2-3 HP.

A power mod is NOS $500=100 hp! Woohoo!!!
