Help: This ever happen to anyone?

In the process of changing my spark plugs. Then the rubber boot of the coil pack breaks off on 2 of them. And to make things worse it happened on the rear side of the engine... Any tips on getting these off? I've tried sticking a flathead in there but that didn't work, they seem pretty stuck.
Also, will I need 2 new coil packs or can I just stick them back in there? (I assume I need new ones but I'd rather be sure lol)

That sucks man.
I got lucky with the engine hot the spark plug was kind of loose so I used a long needle nose plier and came right out with not much effort.
Since its in the rear it might be more challenging though

Yeah I'm pretty much at a loss of what to do now. The engine was pretty warm and it's still just stuck. Thinking about just sticking the coil pack back in there and taking it to a shop and have them just do the back 2 lol

Well I was able to turn the spark plug out of the engine and got it out, But if its not possible then yea a professional shop should be able to do it.

Yeah, bummer man.....two of 'em to boot ? Did the fronts all come out easily ?

When replacing the coil boot, a bit of high temp die-electric silicone lube helps keep the boot from baking on.

Yeah the fronts and the passenger side rear were a breeze, then these last two both made a pop noise when coming out and each time that was the boot popping off

But I put the coil packs back on top and the car runs alright, which will be enough to get it to a shop tomorrow so that's fine I guess. 30 minute job turned into 5 hours of frustration

DAMN!!
Worst possible scenario is that you have to remove Valve Covers and the Spark Plug tubes.. This should come in handy:

MarcDavidoff, I think that can be a way but I don't know if the tubes are detachable from the heads, maybe someone can chime in on this.

Some aftermarket coils have this issue (they dont use much glue to hold the boot on unlike oem ones), Were they ever replaced before ?

Yeah I considered this, but I think I'd have to remove the intake manifold and the last time I did that to install the thermoblock spacers it was a bit of a headache lol. But if the shop I take it to tomorrow has a high price in mind I'll probably give this a shot.

I got the car used at around 103k, so maybe they are aftermarket. But who knows

They are, but they are in no way a replaceable item so don't expect to find spares or part numbers.
