Help changing rear engine mount

I am going to be replacing my rear engine mount on Sunday. I searched for a DIY with no luck, does anyone have any suggestions or things to look out for? Any help whatsoever would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have fun

You will have to support the motor, then most likely from the top unbolt the mount (4 bolts) undo the 1 top bolt that holds the motor to the moung, then lift the motor enough to slide it out. IF that doesnt work you will have to remove the mount bracket on the motor.

It may make things alot easier to remove the strut bar

Thanks. I took a look at it and it looks like I am going to have to move/disconnect some hoses. Was this the case with anyone else?

Sucks you have to replace the rear motor mount.. I have to replace my front next week also. Question for you guys also that relates to RelentlessOne's scenario.. there's a line that's connected to the motor mount of both the front and rear hydraulic mounts as he said... (Like #13 that connects to 16 and so on..) what exactly is in there.. and if disconnected to remove the mount, is there any kind of spillage we'll have to worry about?.. here's what I mean..

the only hose you have to remove is the small vacum hose on the bottom of it. nothing will leak out of it by disconecting it

looks like im gonna be also doing this soon, possibly sat. if the dealership has the parts in stock.

question bout raising the engine.

would it be best to loosen all the mounts first then lift it up, instead of only loosening, say the rear one, and then raise and put pressure on the other engine mounts/brackets?

so since its hydraulic, when u start the car, dcoes the engine mount raise and seal up the outer casing? cuz i was checkin my car, used a screw driver, and lightly pried against it, and it has a good amount of play wit the car off...

I was able to get the mount out and put the new one in, but not bolt it in. I had to have a mechanic finish the job. As for jacking the engine up, I wasn't able to lift the engine up without lifting the whole car with it. As for the hose underneath, it isn't hydraulic, apparently it is a vacuum hose or something, nothing leaks out of it when removed. If you aren't sure what you are doing, I recommend letting some1 else do it. I spent about 6 hours on this project and ended up having to take it to a professional. It also didnt help that it was freezing cold when doing this. Good luck if you decide to do it yourself.
