Hello Everyone! Im new :)

Former RSX type s owner...I am soo happy to be posting on here. As of monday i will be a proud new owner of an 03 Eternal Blue Pearl Acura TL ... with Navi and everything . It is in almost perfect condition and im getting it for $6,000 from an old guy ive been hunting for almost a year now and its almost time!! Yes i know its not a type s..but i didnt want an S do to gas mileage.

My cousin is a Midas Mechanic and also a TL owner and had it up in the air at his shop and said it is mint. It has almost 90,000 miles on it but it has been taken to Acura EVERY YEAR for a check up and they are mostly highway miles. I cant waite to show you guys.

So as soon as it gets here i will post some pics, both of my new car and my cousins ( his is much nicer).

By the way, you guys got some NICE as cars..

$6,000 and 90,000 miles. If your cousin checked it over and said it's in primo shape than IMHO you got a pretty good deal. Especially if your cousin can help you with cheap repairs. congrats.

wow, that sounds like an amazing deal! hey and P's get exact same gas mileage as Type-S. only thing is there are more modifications for type-s's, getting more HP which use more gas, if you're worried bout that. i own a CL-P. you'll enjoy the P, just dont get too mod crazy. i have headers cold air intake and the car is amazing! i bought from old lady too at 42k, they know how to love their acuras!

nice find!

The old guy said he gets 29 to 32 on the highway and around 25 city. That is a lot better than what my cousins Type s gets...but i guess we will see... thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum. The old guy gets better mileage because he's old. I'm guessing your cousin drives his Type S harder than the old guy.

Why is everyone trying to scare him away about the trans? What exactly is he going to get "checked out" on it? All you can do is see if the fluid was changed regularly and take it for a drive to see if it feels good.

ya for real! lol i already knew about that...hopefully if its gonna go out it goes outbefore 115,00 miles ...

The car needs a re alignment and new rotors on the front. The steering wheel shakes a little when you slow down hard. But its all good, having a midas mechanic in your family rocks ...$20 rotors for me!!

Welcome! But don't put $20 rotors on your car. Your steering wheel shake will be back in no time. Get good quality rotors or you'll regret it. Do a search on brake rotors and you'll get the idea.

the rotors are only $20 because my cousins gets them from his buddy at the Acura Dealership...they would be Type S rotors, so that cant be too bad.

and i DEF. plan on opening the moon roof and driving around downtown!! haha. The only problem is it has the super shitty rims on it, so im gonna have to get that fixed ASAP

I'm pretty sure the rotors are the same for both models. The stock rotors are just shitty and you are going to want to invest in some good rotors and pads to stop this beast.

They may be $20, but definitely get a better set so that you don't have to constantly remove and replace them. It will be worth the extra money.

Welcome to AcuraZine! I wanted a RSX before I bought my TL and am so glad I got a TL instead. They are amazing machines enjoy it. Remember its a luxury sedan not a Honda Civc no fart cans and stupid stuff like that. People on this forum like to see these well made machines turned into something real nice. Not some kid putting Canadian Tire performance parts on it ruining a car with so much potential.

Welcome to the club. Now if your tranny fails after you hit the warranty mark, do not fret! join another club. the 2nd gen TL auto to manual swap. I think there's currently 5 people that i know who have already done so including myself, and there are more, but i just dunno who.
