Heat stopped working!!!!
Hi, i have a 2003 tl type s w/80,000 miles
was driving home from work and the heat was working, i turned it off as it got hot enough. I realize now that its not working!! The lights all work and all the buttons light up, it seems there is no air blowing from the vents, hot or cold!
Anyone have this problem before or have a fix?
Your help is appreciated and its freezing over here!!!
Thanks

Yeah, my wife's heater quit working. There's a way to have the system do a self diagnostic, but you'd have to do a search for the details. It appeared as though the blower went out, but after checking fuses/relays/wiring ..........it ended up being a shorted connection between the resistor and the blower motor. Checked the resistor and motor, both were ok. Replaced wiring connectors and all is well .

Hey Seventhson, sorry for the delayed response.
The blower motor is located up under the glove box area of the dash. It'll appear round and black. Trace the wires from it to the resistor mounted ahead of it on the firewall. This resistor is used for controlling the blower's speed. It's white in color and about 1"x 4" in size, you can't miss it.
Between the blower and resistor, there should be a connector midway. It may have black electrical tape wrapped around it. Take this apart and inspect. You can check for power. Replacing this connector solved my problem. It may not be such a simple fix, but you never know unless you try, it may save you from getting ripped by the dealer. Good luck !
