headlight(s) w/ HID bulb(s)

Hello

A friend of mine just bought a car from action, Acura TL 3.2 and some #$%#$ stole his headlights yesterday while he was taking a nap, it cost him a lot of money to put new headlights in.. he put regular halogen instead of HID this time (HID cost too much) any suggestions on how to protect his headlights?

Thanks in advance

i heard people do even more nasty things to the car when they see shock sensors and/or alarm of any kind.. at the end you end up paying more for other parts rather if they just took those stupid bulbs at first place, i even heard that they dont even need headlights the only things they are looking for is a bulb(s) and ballast(s) for xenon (hid) lights, thats about it..

Shock sensors is the only thing unless you want to move to a place where you can park your car inside.
Also, putting regular halogen on the TL ??? The difference is too much, is almost like going back to the dark age. I know money is an issue but wow.

Just so you know, there's still a very good chance that his headlights are going to get stolen again since the thieves don't know that the bulbs are halogens. You could get an alarm that will cover the deductible on the insurance if anything happens to the car. You could weld metal bars on the inside to the chasis.

Where in Brooklyn did this happen?

he had a parking (garage before) but he sold his car and didn't had any car for several month, he decided not to waste money on parking mean while.. and now it's hard to get it back.. someone else is parking there now..

and yes, i totally agree with going back to halogen is bad thing to do, I myself have HID 8000k on my car I don't even understand people who drives with stock HID 4100k.. anyway it's up to him, I guess the main thing that he afraids is that he doesn't want to purchase those lights and for them to get stolen again..

ofcourse there is a big chance that it'd happene again.. thats what he afraids the most.. from what i understand from him that if theft see some protection they will do even more damage to the car then in first place.. btw it happened in midwood..

How are those 20s holding up on Brooklyn roads? (you have a drop?). I already bent my BR5s here and there.

I suggest you go 1.5 inches (1.75 max), or else you'll be banging out the lips with a hammer every now and then. Be prepared to drive around potholes all the time (you won't be driving in a straight line anymore). One more other advice, take off your rims in a month and put them back on in April (the roads are going to be real sh*tty). You have the LD1s?

I'm very well aware of that I need to drive behind potholes, I even was doing thta on my 17" and 18" wheels, I always drive around 'em... and ofcourse I'm going take them off soon due to the weather conditions and I'm going put them back nice and shiny somewhere in the spring.. and yes I have a set of LD1

I had a few of those, worse though. I have one on the outer lip, I'm afraid to damage the chrome so I did as best as I could banging it out.
