headlight issues
Hello Acurazine, I have an 03 TL and my driver side headlight went out. I need to know if there's any risk of replacing the light myself. I'm new to the forum, and I just need some serious help
There are detailed posts in here for troubleshooting and replacing the headlights.
They should be replaced in pairs due to old bulbs fading and you don't want different colors bulbs shining on the road.
The stock temp for the TL was 4300 k. Best to get them if you can find em or go with 5k or no higher than 6k. Any higher color devreases white lightoutput.

electrical hazard does exist if the lights have just been on- then you try to work on them
Give the car a good hour or 4 after headlights use before starting to work on them,,to let the capacitor and everything `de-juice` it bleeds off the stored power
otherwise a powerful ZAP is possible
some find it easier to remove the bumper cover then both housings--the bulb is buried inside the housing and held in by a 1 arm spring clip
diy will lead you thru
otherwise remove parts as needed to get tools in small workspace and work blind,,,
I took off the bumper cover for its few bolts and push clips
have radio and nav security codes-
disconnect battery NEG cable to prevent shocks
