Headlight issues
Hey,
Maybe someone can tell me if the problem is the ballast or not. When I turn on my headlights I'd say about 75% of the time, the right one doesnt ignite. The left one works 100% of the time. If I turn the light off and on a few times I can get the right one to come on, but thats not very often. Does this sound like the ballast? Let me know. Thanks.

It sounds like the igniter is going out.
You could check it out by switching the igniter from the left headlight.
One more thing to check. Make sure there isn't any water sitting in the ballast. Could be enough in there to short out the ballast.
New ballast will cost ~190, new igniter ~165, with OEM Parts.
From a dealer ~460 for both.

You mean a cold solder joint??
I would lean towards the igniter too.

I had the ballast go out as well, but spend unnecessary money buying both Ballast and igniter to realize it was not ignitor, but Ballast. Switch ignitor on each side to see if it's that first. Btw, if it is the ignitor (which I doubt) I can sell you mine, which, as mentioned above works perfect, as my problem was the ballast. Do a search and you will find instructions on removal...Ballast was a little painfull b/c bumper needs to be taken off but is managable with instructions. whatever you do, Just don't get Acura to do it.

oh, and btw, if you do take it to stealership to just get checked out..remember this, they actually told me "Ballast and ignitor have to both be replaced", when only Ballast needed replacement.
And Finally, attempt to find the ballast at a Junkyard. If that fails, http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp/srchrslts1.jsp
I believe the part is called "inverter".
