headlight auto ON/OFF

i understand that our car's headlight will turn off by itself automatically if we don't do it manually. And when you disarm/unlock the car, headlight will come back on for about 5 seconds. is there a way to adjust them so they'll stay on when you disarm/unlock the car?

Thanks

Well I never left my lights on, then left the car without it being locked, but when I left them on and LOCKED the car, the would turn off after like 10 or 15 seconds, and then as soon as I hit the unlock button they would come to life again for another 10 or 15 seconds.

Stay on for how long? You could purchase an aftermarket alarm that has that capability. My Clifford allows me to adjust how long they stay on.

because everytime i hit the unlock button, it takes me about 10 or more seconds to reach my car...it goes off after 5 secs and comes back on when i open my driver's door! i wanted to be the same among of time with the auto lock up? <~~(when you unlock the door, it locks back up by itself if no one opens any door, around 30 secs or so)

Or once you see the headlights you could start sprinting and see if you can be"beat" the lights from going off ..

Or just lock and unlock the car with the FOB again, there you just got another 15 seconds..

Ahh, you wouldn't want HID lights to turn on and off every 15 secs.
It would be nice if it stays on for a minute or so after unlock.

According to the '99 Owner's Manual, Page 62.

Turn car off, remove key, get out, close door - 15 seconds
Turn car off, remove key but don't open door and don't get out - 10 minutes

If you only have the window wipers on the first setting, when you're fully stopped and the second you let off the brake, the window wiper will wipe again even if it just did it while you were stopping. And also I know (for 02+) the headrest in the backseat on the driver's side is bigger than the passenger side

I never knew the 10 minute rule if you don't open your car (I hope thats for 00+ too). That's some good info cause I always opened and closed my door if I auto-started my car and realized I didn't need to drive off yet, and just did auto-off cause I was scared the lights would never turn off.
