It might help, but it will also void the Comptech warranty on the headers.

I had my headers coated by Jet-Hot (same idea as swain).

If you do have the headers coated, I recommend you ONLY coat the exterior of the headers.

The only two people I know who had the headers coated, (myself and a friend) had minimal dyno gains with the CompTech headers.

Jet Hot messed up the initial internal coating and had to recoat mine a second time. I gained a max 6hp at the wheels, and my peak gain was even less. (I had stock exhaust)

My friend who had her's coated only once, only saw power gains after 5,500 rpms and had a max gain of 10hp and a peak gain that was even less. (My friend had tanabe cat-back exhaust)

Its your headers and your money, but I'm just telling you what I would do based on my own experience. BTW, the coating will have ZERO performance effect on our cars in my opinoin. YMMV.

I aksed Comptech about it a while back and they said that the coating causes premature wear of the metal. From he was saying, it sounded like the metal needs to "breathe" and the coating won't allow that.

I think it was referring to the thermal wraps for headers. But I also asked them about JET coatings too.

With as much $$ as you're spending, I wouldn't chance it.

Header wraps are a No-No for the CompTech headers. Wouldn't they also trap in moisture causing the header to corrode/rust quicker?

The coatings most companies apply actually reduce the amount of heat that the headers would "absorb".
