Headers

Does a stock 2000 tl 3.2 have headers.......Does the type-s? How much HP gain would you get if you put type-s headers on a stock 3.2. What about obx headers, are they good and whats the HP gain? Do you need to change any other part of the pipes.

Neither of them have "headers" as standard equipment. The stock exhaust manifolds are cast iron, flow restricted design (probably for emissions). You could put the manifolds from a Type-S on a standard model but there would be no improvement, they're the same design. OBXs are headers (individual pipes from each exhaust port) and work just fine; as far as the HP gains, I've heard as low as about 5 to as much as 25 - 30. With headers, you get the exhaust manifolds and the Y-pipe to connect the two to your catalytic convertor; they're a direct replacement for the exhaust from the engine to the cat.

thanks for your help, so would it be a good idea to get new exhaust from the Cat back if i got thouses headers? I head that tls already have a high flow exhaust so anything except headers wont really help.

Also does anyone have headers, how much faster is your car now?

I would look for used Comptech headers, get a cold air intake and lightweight crank pulley....these three will drop you from approx 15.5 1/4 mile time to a 14.9 on a good day and the car driven right.

Yeah but they are not ported and if you install those headers and take them off you will see where the exhaust ring around the flange where the exhuast coming out of the head
