Header question.....

I am new to the forums and I have a 2002 TL-P SSM I tried using the search for the answer I needed but couldn't find it. But anyways I just barely installed my headers and it was a pain in the a$$ and I wanted to know if anyone elses 2nd gen TL-P sounded different with just headers or do I just have a leak because my ride sounds deeper at idle and low rpms with just intake and these headers im not sure what to do might take to a muffler shop and have them look at it but let me know your thoughts or suggestions.

Sounds like the kind of problem you need...sounding deeper at idle

we then it possibly could be the resonace issue that a lot of members on this board(me included)have faced..................Do a search many threads started on this topic, including possible fixes(header wrap, heatshield etc...)
Can you describe the sound better and exactly when you hear it (rpm)

Also do you know what batch you headers are
BTW DC makes a header now for our cars look into it,or call megan directly and see what they will do for you(replace downpipe??)

The sound when at idle is just like a deep growl and when driving its sounds like my car has one of those flowmaster exhausts or something. The sound starts at idle and goes on til VTEC kicks and the intake takes over but also there is a kind of sound like alot of air pressure is coming out also might be a leak. It sounds nice but its the vibration that bugs me so im not sure if its supposed to be sounding like that or not I have an accord with mods and when i had headers it still sounded stock so thats why im questioning if my TL should have any sound difference with headers. I am not sure which batch they are from I bought them off ebay and the box it was shipped in said megan racing and gave me stupid stickers but headers don't say megan racing or anything so im not sure on that either. I will take a picture of them and post them they look alot different then the ones others on here have they have two flex pipes one in front of downpipe after it curves down by the tranny and the second one before it bolts to the cat converter.

yeah common problem, look up SatinSilvertyprS's thread on wrapping your megans(it may help),Also Look up BlackACC thread on his heatshield causing noise(resonance).......The Headers should have a little megan emblem.................If you got them from Jakethebomb on ebay you should be ok.........Personally I'm sick of my megans and I plan on getting the DC's in the next month or so Good Luck
Oh yeah BTW if you plan on lowering your TL that second flex pipe is going to take a lot of damage, maybe have a muffler shop weld a str8 pipe in place of the second flex pipe

figured out my problem with the vibration!!! I jacked my car back up and the downpipe coming down in front is right up against the frame of my car I think that I have the manifolds on the wrong sides because they aren't the same. I am gonna try switching them to see if that helps because when i was trying to put them on I had to pry the downpipe to bolt on to the manifold. It was not even kinda like this / \ if you know what i mean on that. So lets see if switching might help and there is no Megan emblem on the headers at all and its not leaking I took it to my buddies shop and we checked so thats also good. Thanks for the suggestions on the wrap I might also try that and I checked the heatshield already that thing isn't budging at all so I know its not loose or anything. I have a set of TEIN H type springs it only lowers about an inch so I think they should be ok.
