Header Noise?
I have had my headers on for a couple of months now with no problems. But recently my headers are making a werid sound between 1-2k rpm, it is a rattling sound. I've tried tightening the 3 bolts that connect to the headers to the stock cat-back which where i believe im hearing the sound come from. It didnt do any good and it still makes that sound. Should i re-tighten all the bolts connecting to header? Has anyone had this problem and how did u fix it. I have a maxima friend with a Y-pipe and he said it is proabably the flex pipe and thermal wrap or exhaust wrap will fix it. Has anyone heard of this being done and where would i find the thermal or exhaust wrap.
Thanks for ANY help I NEED TO MAKE THE SOUND GO AWAY ASAP IT MAKES MY CAR SOUND CHEAP!!!! =/
Thanx Again

Mine did the same thing for about a week until I had finally had enough. I took it to the shop and they told me my o2 sensor was very loose. So they tightened it and haven't had that annoying rattle since. That was about two months ago. CT headers by the way.
In my experience, the best way to trace exhaust/header rattles is to put the car on a lift and lightly tap on the exhaust with a hammer. You can usually tell the source of the rattle pretty quick. Hope is not a cracked weld on your headers, that would be a pain to remove & repair. Hope its your O2 sensor like Type S Lady suggested, that would be a quick fix.
