Head light

Im new to this forums....but i already find it very good. I have 00 3.2Tl, my question is my drivers side HID headlight is dead. went to my local auto shops and they said they don't carry those bulbs and that they are factory. And will need to get it from the dealer for a buck & chance. I was wondering if anyone knows where i can get a pair for a reason price plz. Thank You.

Welcome to AcuraZine!

Check ebay. I bought a pair of brand new Philips D2R bulbs for $68.49 with shipping. That's less than $35 a bulb. The lowest price I found through an Acura dealer was about $100 a bulb.

Others have reported similar prices through eBay. Be sure the bulbs are new since some ebay sellers are selling used bulbs. Check the seller's feedback.

You'll want to replace both bulbs unless you're other bulb is fairly new. They change color over time and you can get a mis-matched set if you only replace one bulb.

Stick with 4300K bulbs for the maximum amount of light on the road. Higher Kelvin bulbs take on nice colors but you'll lose visibility at night.

Search the forum for many more discussions of this topic and for installation instructions. There is a ton of useful information in this forum and the search feature is your friend.

Yes, I bought my bulbs from Akinaboy. But I just checked his ebay auctions and he's only offering used D2R bulbs right now.

Are you sure it's a dead Bulb?

TLs are notoriously known for blowing ballasts. You should swap the bulbs and check to see if it's really a dead bulb. or a dead ballast.

don't waste your money on something that wouldn't help

Yes, swapping the bulbs is a great idea.

It's fairly easy to do if you take your time and have a tamper-proof Torx T-20 driver.

I posted some bulb replacement tips in this thread:

https://acurazine.com/forums/religion-politics-18/schwarzenegger-says-pro-bush-speech-cost-him-sex-157828/

And there are other, more detailed, "how to" threads floating around.

Yup, that's the correct set. D2R is what we have.

Are you referring to the eBay auction linked above? If so, I didn't see "D2S" on the bulb images. But if you have any questions, contact the seller before bidding.
