Post He Passed the test!

When I changed the springs on my car, my father noticed and started screaming at me...he didn't know what I did, just noticed my car was sitting lower(I'm sure he knows by now.. His way is "if it ain't broke, don't fix"..
Now, the ultimate test...The exhaust!
Even though I had them on the car for about a month, he only sat in my car for the first time in a while.. I drove him home, about an hour drive..all that noise, and nary a word! I just hope he doesn't find a way to read this post!

OT please

just kidding

I have five blue stars, and you only have four!! LoL

o well, guess I'm drunk or something...

same thing happened here though... I got my TL tinted just today, and no one in my family noticed anything when we went to a restaurant for dinner in my car... and it wasn't totally dark outside... LoL it looks fantastic now even if it's just legal tint.

my parents don't ever notice anymore, and if they do, they don't say anything. of course i've been out of the house for years, own a house, get paid decent, and married a nice "acceptable in their eyes" girl, what more can they ask for...errr except grand kids. ANYWAYS, they don't comment anymore, but I think they just got worn out I AM surprised they did not notice my rims though.

Oh yeah, they did not see my other car for almost a year! and when they found out, they didn't say too much either (except the typical practical,"why do you need two cars?" Gonna have to let my dad drive the other car and then he'll understand.

well, they should not say anything because I believe you bought those things with the money you earned, at least not from them. it's your money, you spend it on whatever you want. no one has the rights to say anything about buying it

you are obviously not from a typical Asian or Jewish family =). Our parents own us for life and reserve that right like forever...oh well...I guess I was used to it. yes, it was all mine $, but the "practical" side always tends to come out with parents. They see far better things to do that fixing up or buying cars, I guess I'm just blinded by my love of my car(s).

*lol* Getting family approval is always hard when it comes to mods. It's not like we need it... but still, it would be nice if we had their "blessings" also! When I had my Prelude, the Greddy PE exhaust was annoying the heck out of my gf/ father/ mother/ relatives/ cops/ etc. Why can't we all get along!?

Well, at least I could care less if they like it or not!

Edward, this is your father. I am very upset at you for ruining your car. No more bagels for you. And I hope you have a lot to repent about.

i just recently ordered springs for my car, and they should b here tomorrow. my parents and grandparents, leep on asking me why i am "messing up that car like that". i just say man you do not understand. when i got my exhaust they claimed i needed a new muffler and still ask me, "when are you getting that muffler fixed. when i got new h4 headlights that are hyper purple, my mom asked me why don't i ever turn my brights off........parents just don't understand. this is an addiction, an expensive one, but a very good one

I stand corrected...sort of, I did say TYPICAL didn't I? You're just lucky. =)

My cars are always modded out a little, but they still say stuff here and there. Oh well...

First thing I had done to the car was the springs rims/tires and exhaust all at the same time. I was sweatin it pretty hard when I went home, but my dad came out and watched me for a little bit as I washed my car. And he didn't notice a thing! hahahahahaha

My Mom on the other hand, well, I'm somewhat at a disadvantage here since she drives a TL as well. I parked it in the garage for a few hours (while it rained) and she noticed how mine sat noticably lower than hers. And, in her words "Your wheels have less black part than mine" Hahahahahah, "and I can see right through them" LOL.

Now my mom expects something to be different with my car every time I come home. The mesh grille she almost noticed immediately, I was surprised. Took her a little bit for the tint, but she actually approved of it.

Also, when I had to leave the car at home for a weekend, she drove it somewhere without my knowing at the time, and she said she didn't like it. And get this! She didn't even notice that I had an Inspire wood trimmed steering wheel! AHahahahhaahahah sometimes I wonder if it clicks in her mind. I have no idea. Yeah I was sweatin that wheel cause she could likely go to Acura Parts and ask what it cost, ($650) and she'd be pissed. (course I got it for a lot cheaper )
