Hazard Switch getting stuck inside, not springing out.
Hazard Switch getting stuck inside, not springing out.
I replaced the clock light and all appeared well. Playing with various buttons and I noticed that the hazard switch will engage (all 4 flashers are flashing) but it doesn't spring back out again. I can work it with a screwdriver and it will eventually come out, which stops the lights flashing. So the switch works, it just doesn't pop out on it's own like it used to.
Is there a spring that I lost in the last clock light repair? Or is the switch needing to be replaced? I just can't see what is wrong. This was working last time I used it (months ago).

The H switch is self contain nothing to lose. It's either binding or worn out, nothing more.
Look at the switch to see if its center in the opening. If not it's probably binding.
Best way is to remove and test it in your hand. If it works fine then it was binding, if not defective.

Yes, dealership also confirmed it is self contained and not serviceable. $45 and backordered at the dealership. A quick trip to the local junk yard and $6 later I can confirm that there is a spring inside, and I disconnected the wrong connector when removing it from the dash.
So for anyone else removing the dash, if you have to wrestle with the hazard switch connector, double check you are removing the correct clip. And be careful of losing the spring..
