hey,
have any of u guys herd about a car just like the acura tl,but it is a honda over in japan.IT supposedly is called a honda ..something... but im not sure it is a identical car but has a manual transmiton i was wonderingi f anyone has herd about that my friend who is japanesse told me he has a tl also well talk to u later

The Inspire is the car pictured on the first page of www.acura-tl.com if you wanna give it a closer look. Notice that it has fog lights, and an "H" instead of an "A" in the grille.
There are some other minor differences, too, but it's the same car. Some people say Acura started the luxury craze of re-naming cars for greater status (later followed by Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti), but it was actually America that did it, with all sorts of GM/Caddilac/Buick/Oldsmobile/Chevrolet, Dodge/Chrysler, etc.)
As an aside, I wonder why there is no upscale mazda division? Also, I read that the Oldsmobile marque is going to be retired forever.

Before the Millenia came out, Mazda was considering creating an upscale company called "Amati".. I don't remember why they never created it, but the thought was considered..

The Mazda Millenia was supposed to be the flagship Madza "luxury brand" car, but they decided it would be too crowded a market and only imported the Millenia as a Mazda. Its actually kinda nice.
As for the Americcan companies doing it, some of those brands were actually once independent car companies bought up by GM. Thats why Oldsmobile s actually the oldest car brand in the US, and the next to become defunct. Oh well, life goes on. Now if only Acura would imporve their dealership service levels to that of other lux brands...
