That thread was posted in the 3G section. I've read it, but I'm 6MT, so it doesn't apply.

Hmmm...I'm sure somebody will post an educated answer, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to do so?

Only if this work for us

I have talk to a guy that rebuilt tranny an he told me it's the part that is in our Tranny is the real problem. The plate that help tranny shift between gear is made like brake pad. Over time an the way you drive will cause the plate to wear down quicker. I ask him if they can use use different kind plate an he said NO an that was that. This was something i remember talking about 2year ago after getting my tranny replace for 3rd time.

But under 100$ for both switchs , I wonder if someone would consider try to swap them
and see if our 2th gen tranmy would react better.

28600-P7Z-003 SWITCH ASSY., OIL PRESSURE (TEXAS INSTRUMENTS)

28600-P7W-003 SWITCH ASSY., OIL PRESSURE

90471-PW7-A00 GASKET (10MM) 2

These are the part numbers for my 01 CLS, which actually came up as TL parts, but my part guy said these are correct.

My logic is it can't hurt and if there is a chance of prolonging the life of my transmission (#2 installed in 05 100k ago) it is 90 dollars well spent.....

This response is of one CLS member and the list of parts #......look in the section component : 5AT sensor-solenoid .Parts #

O.K. so what do u guys think of all this?
I guess this is my next mission after I clean my EGR post and install outal engineering spacers and replace all my bulbs on my heating controls im gonna install some sensors.
For less then $100 and a slight chance it will keep my tranny running long past 200K (I have 167K now but 67 k on 3rd tranny) might as well give it a shot..Right?
Anyone have some pics or a D.I.Y...??

I belive this needs to be done B4 problems occur..
From what I read in the other thread if the Tranny starts acting up the damage is done, Its preventative maintenence..
They say you should change it out every 50k miles on the trans, well the people over in the other thread.. Once the clutch packs start grinding switching it out will not make a big difference..
This is all going off what I read..

I have 65k on my newest (3rd) tranny so I will be ordering this some time next week and let u guys know how it turns out!

While i agree that it may help out the shifting it wont solve the problem of getting fluid to our 3rd gear clutchpacks that desperately need it.

I just though of something...
My tranny was replaced 2 times, so this is my 3rd tranny.
They said that it was a updated transmission when most the problems where fixed. Would that part # be the same in the original 2001 CL-S tranny and the upgraded transmission that they gave me?

Well i remember when my tranny got replaced at about 40K, some regional guy was there at the dealership and told me the newer version tranny has "smoother" gears to reduce heat, wider tranny fluid channels for better fluid dispersion and a different shift controller. Not sure if that is all true but I must say that my second tranny has been holding up very nicely (knock on wood) and after two drain and fills, my fluid is still very red with hardly any of that burnt smell, unlike the first time I did a drain and fill on my first tranny and thought I accidentally drained my motor oil Shortly after that, the tranny laid over and fawkin died

The steels are polished smoother to reduce wear.

So u guys think they have the same switch in the old and newer transmission?
I dont wanna end up buying a old switch and the tranny mess up cuz the switches also got upgraded!

If there are new updated switches that is what they will sell you. There's no reason to sell an old version and a new version.

If you read the thread carefull ...they stated that the switchs went "lazy " so resistance change 'cause of heat .
So with time the switchs goes slowly bad and will change the way the gear shifts ......
There will be no updated switchs , only swap the olds ones out as a precaution or prevent damage to the gear later.

They're just like antifreeze ...you will have to change them after 3-4 years 'cause they degrade with time...if not with longer period your car might overheat as fluid degrade more .....
