Has anyone experienced?
Have a 2002 abp tls made in oct 01. Bought in Jan have 3100 miles on it. Over the last couple of weeks have something sort of odd around 50 miles per hour the tach hand occasionally starts to go crazy fluctuating up and down from 3000 down to like 750 rpms doesnt do it all the time and this morning it was like 45 degrees here and I was actually feeling the tranny shifting harder than normal anybody else been through this hope its not the early start of tranny problems. WOndering if I should go ahead and take it in to the dealer or just see if it continues to duplicate itself because as I mentioned its not constantly.
I had this problem:(
I had the EXACT same problem in my 95 honda accord and it took a while to fix it... Let me save you some greif and hopefully money for labor.
The problem is the coil pack for your car. The coil pack is hooked up to your ignition system which is in turn tied into your tach.
I had my tachometer replaced and it turned out that all I would have had to do is replace an $80 coil pack instead of paying almost $500 for labor and tach...
Replace the coil pack and your problem is almost guaranteed to disappear... Get it replaced under warranty if you can.
My coil pack was functioning but barely... My tack would flip out crazy like 3k then 7k then it would just go to zero RPM while I would be on the highway... very annoying... Finally it just died completely..

There is a big difference between the ignition of a 2002 TL and a 1995 Accord. Your Accord had one coil that fed all spark plugs. We have direct ignition, so the coils (all 6 of them) are actually connected to each spark plug.
Sorry, but I think it's your tranny. The slippage and surges on the tach are symptoms I had when mine went bad, although most of my surge/slippage problems were with the 2->3 shift.
