If you where going to do it, couldn't you just use the boot and trim piece off of a 6 speed CL? Or is it a diff size?

let me try to translate this.

In my opinion I do not care for it. I feel our second generation TLs are luxurious vehicles and that such cars do not need a shift boot.
Shift boots are similar to things I had several years ago when I was a mere teenager. Why should you waste your time trying to trick people into thinking you have a shift knob? These qualities of trickery are similar to that of a "ricer" or a car modified very cheaply and without taste found often on hondas and toyotas.
Do you agree?

well I agree with alot of you guys saying your opinions and criticisms, the reason I wanted to try this is because I have always been a fan of manual cars, I had 4 other cars before the TL, and they were all manuals, so I fell in love with manual

So I just thought to myself to bring back some of the memory of having a manual, why not do this, it was not meant to trick people, or ricing out my TL it was just to make me feel a little better when I see the shift boot

So thanks to all who agree and disagree, to each his own

You want a manual, then get a manual and don't try and be something you're not.
