has anyone changed the micron filter himself?
when i ripped out my dash the vents were all dusty, i assume my filter is dirty now. Should i change it? At what service interval does the dealer do the job?

I have an AV6, but they are similar to the TL. The recommended interval to change the micron air-filter is 30k on the AV6, so I would imagine it would be the same for the TL. If you can already take apart your dash, changing the air filter would not be hard at all for you.

If you are referring to the AC filters (2) behind the glove box, then they say to change it every 15K miles in severe driving mode and every 30K miles in normal mode.
Most people follow the severe driving maintenance schedule, but I changed mine at 30K miles.
Hope this helps.

Hmm...how exactly do you change them? What parts of the dash need to come off to access the filters? I think I am going to change them as well because I'm pretty sure they haven't been changed. How much are they, the filters that is, BTW?

I changed it myself.
Don't waste money buy having the dealership do it. It only takes....maybe 30 minutes or less depending on how fast you are I suppose.
Remove the glove box. There are several screws to remove. Once you get behind that, you'll see a tab that requires cutting. Cut the 8 or 10 tabs and remove the cover. The cover will say "Do not discard" There you will see the 2 air filters. Just pull them out and replace them with the new ones.
Hope this helps.
