I have an AV6, but they are similar to the TL. The recommended interval to change the micron air-filter is 30k on the AV6, so I would imagine it would be the same for the TL. If you can already take apart your dash, changing the air filter would not be hard at all for you.

If you are referring to the AC filters (2) behind the glove box, then they say to change it every 15K miles in severe driving mode and every 30K miles in normal mode.

Most people follow the severe driving maintenance schedule, but I changed mine at 30K miles.

Hope this helps.

At 30K I thought they'd be ok but were really black. Every 30K is correct, or sooner if it's dusty where you drive.

Hmm...how exactly do you change them? What parts of the dash need to come off to access the filters? I think I am going to change them as well because I'm pretty sure they haven't been changed. How much are they, the filters that is, BTW?

I did not change mine myself but I had the dealer do it last August. The parts should cost around $27.00 thats whats on my invoice for that service. There are 2 filters that you need to replace. I think they are the same parts #80291-S84-A01 A/C Filters this is for a 2000TL. The dealer will charge you an arm & a leg for this about $80.00 for the labor.

I changed it myself.

Don't waste money buy having the dealership do it. It only takes....maybe 30 minutes or less depending on how fast you are I suppose.

Remove the glove box. There are several screws to remove. Once you get behind that, you'll see a tab that requires cutting. Cut the 8 or 10 tabs and remove the cover. The cover will say "Do not discard" There you will see the 2 air filters. Just pull them out and replace them with the new ones.

Hope this helps.

Are these the same as a Honda Accord? Reason I ask is because we don't have an Acura dealer here and I've gone 70k without changing these damn things.
