Has anyone changed the accessory belt?
Has anyone changed the accessory belt?
I tried doing a search and couldnt find anything.
Has anyone changed the accessory belt themselves? (the lower one, drives the alternator and AC compressor)
If so how did you do it and did you run into any types of problems?
Just looking at it I do think I will have some clearance issues getting a wrench down to the idler/tensioner pully.
Also I noticed a lot of brown dust on the side of fender wall. I also noticed not a lot of air goes through there so it could just be dust that settles and is normal accumulation from the belt just wearing down.
So has anyone changed thier belts themselves and how?
Also how do you replace the one for the power steering pump?
BTW, '02 TLS with 80k miles on it - not that it matters much.
Thanks.

i actually brought up a similiar thread about a month ago now. you will need a serpentine belt tool (it's very slim) with a crow's foot attachment on it. if you search under my name it should come up. there are pics posted in it. i haven't done it yet but it looks like it would be easy to get underneath the car and line it up and then release the tensioner on from above to slip the belt over it. it would go extremely quick with two people. otherwise 1 person should be able to do it fairly quickly with the car jacked up. as far as the power steering goes i'm not too sure. hopefully someone else can help out with this one.
